School Environment
Erskineville Public School has occupied its current site since 1882, continuously providing education for the local community. The entire site is for the use of our students, with buildings from a variety of eras forming an eclectic backdrop for our lively, multi-cultural school community. We offer a diverse range of facilities catering to the needs of all students.
Modern classrooms provide happy and productive learning environments, while the Tom Bass Learning Centre (TBLC), is central to all learning. The TBLC incorporates the library and specialised technology area, hosting an excellent range of study and recreational resources including internet access, computers, and written materials in several community languages. We have an art and pottery room onsite.
We have a large grassed play area that is now irrigated by our underground tank, an ampitheatre and fruit tree grove, hard surface play areas, and the school’s original weather shed. Our school is a short walk from the Harry Noble Reserve and the Souths Football Ground. Our students have access to well-designed playing areas, and our school community garden.
Technology
Students at Erskineville Public School have access to state of the art technological resources. All classrooms are networked and have a number of computers used through out the day by students. The Tom Bass Learning Centre (TBLC) incorporates our specialised technology centre, with 30 networked computers, internet access, and a range of educational resources and packages to assist students with literacy, maths, research, and presentation of materials.
Digital photos are a regular feature of our newsletter, ensuring that you can see your child in their daily environment. Look out for the end of term assembly slide shows, they truly give a sense of the spirit of Erko!
