Elections are over for the next few years. We’ve had both state and federal elections in 2007. With great effort an enthusiastic group of parents and students ran another fundraiser today. We had a steady supply of cakes through the morning, thanks Julian and Paulina for amazing super scones, jam and cream. The staple sauage in a bun, cake stall, craft and kids clothing raised another $2,711.58 for Erko Public School.
Ester and Frances did a roaring trade on the raffle, raising an extra $732.
The prize winners were:
1st Prize - Broadway Gym Membership won by Lisa King of Alexandria
2nd Prize - Family Pack of 4 vouchers won by Toby Bowring of EPS
3rd Prize - Deluxe Pamper Pack won by Dione Barret - EPS Parent
4th Prize - Weekend Pack - Scotch & 4 vouchers won by Ray Husband Snr of Erskineville
5th Prize - $100 Seafood Voucher from De Costi Broadway won by Megan Grant of Newtown
The grand total for the day was around $3,443!
Thanks to all the volunteers; especially to John and Amanda for getting us another shelter, we were very grateful to have it when the rain kicked in mid-morning.
A extra big thanks to David W who organised and delivered the BBQ supplies.
A big hearty thanks to Paul for coming in all day and to Gai who was the browsing queen!
See you all at Bunnings in 2008 . . .

On Saturday the 20th of October, the Erskineville Public School P&C invited all ex-students
back to school to see how things have changes and revisit their time here.
The P & C hosted a barbeque to loosen tied tongues and keep the memories flowing. Members of the school community (students and parents) recorded the stories as part of our ongoing history project. It was an inspiring and refreshing experience all round.
To keep the spirit of Erko alive we are inviting all you old boys and girls to blog about your
thoughts of the memory walk or to capture some more of those yarns and
stories. If you have other memorabilia related to the school you would like to share, please contact us, we are developing an archive of materials that will be available for future generations. Over to you….

We’re back online after a DNS problem caused the site disappear for 48 hours.
The original cause was that I let the domain name expire — the notifications were eaten by an overly protective spam filter — and it took repeated phone calls and a few hours on-hold to the hosting service, the registrar and one of their re-sellers to sort out the problem.
Apologies all,
Geoff.
